She really wants to play, but the concepts are still a little beyond her. I picked up an Indiana Jones board game (shown here on my blog.. http://arlowallis.blogspot.com/2012/04/indiana-jones-game.html ) That's meant to be played with a DVD, but I modified it to be a "Treasure Hunting" game with traps and villains that we both have to overcome. The board is a modular board system that you lay each a tile down on each players turn, so the temple gets larger as the game progresses. I'm still in the process of working out all the bugs, but we had a blast playing. She's been asking me when we can play again. I might check out the "Kids, Castles, and Caves" system... It's great seeing other parents trying to involve their children in gaming. I think it's great for their imaginations and problem solving skills!Arlo Wallishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05663939066676275352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603070020231253303.post-5121591959521681032012-01-19T15:05:00.538-05:002012-01-19T15:05:00.538-05:00Julian, I would definitely also take a peek at Arg...Julian, I would definitely also take a peek at Argyle and Crew, which is aimed at kids and involves sock puppets (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=94507). There is also Kids, Castles, and Caves, which is D6 based and has very simple rules (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=58575).<br /><br />I've only read through both, but we may try them out on Cups.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11942119468891990846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603070020231253303.post-11126722962452109632012-01-17T04:00:43.287-05:002012-01-17T04:00:43.287-05:00This sounds great! My eldest son has just turned 3, so still a while to go yet, but I've been looking for a way to get him (and me) into roleplaying and had resigned myself to waiting a few more years. <br />I've been looking for resources to make RP more accessible for younger children. I'd already signed up to the Monster Stand-Ins Kickstarter, which is where I found the link to this blog. I also signed up to the Realm Coins Kickstarter to get some coins to play with. I'll look out for the Pathfinder Beginners Box and the Paizo cards.Julianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00233834266405107594noreply@blogger.com
